What is
offsetting4you?
Offsetting4you strongly believe that as UK citizens we should be concerned and responsible for the emissions we create as individuals, small businesses or large corporate companies. We can all take a balanced approach to climate change and work towards one common goal: to be Carbon Neutral. Offsetting4you are here to help you achieve these objectives. One of the simplest ways to offset our carbon footprint, and reduce the imbalance of too much CO2 in the greenhouse gases in our atmosphere is to plant trees. Trees absorb CO2 from the atmosphere to grow, which in the process of photosynthesis will become stored carbon in their organic matter, in their wood and roots.
For help and advice on reducing your car CO2 emissions please visit the Act on CO2 Website.
If you would like to calculate your carbon emissions you can also use the Act on CO2 Calculator.
Climate change and global warming
There is much publicity and many theories about global warming, melting ice-caps, greenhouse gases and climate change. There are many influences attributing to climate change but certainly scientific evidence has proved that one of the primary causes is the build up of CO2 in the greenhouse gases in our atmosphere due to global growth and human activity. Here in the UK we have recently experienced changes to our climate with unusual weather patterns, extreme flooding and warmer winters.
Making a difference
On what was farmland offsetting4you are creating new woodland in the belief that we need to start doing something positive for our children, and our children’s children.
The leaf canopy of an established tree will absorb around One Tonne of carbon dioxide in its lifetime. Our woodland planting program is to plant and care for 500,000 British Native broadleaved trees by 2012, and with your help we can achieve this. Whether we plant a single tree for an individual or hundreds of trees on behalf of your company, both are equally important to us as the common objective is to reduce the impact of climate change.
The new woodland lies in a valley in the heart of the Blackdown Hills in beautiful Devonshire countryside. There are also many fringe benefits of planting this new woodland. We also want to plant wild flower and grass seed in the woodland and neighbouring meadows, to re-establish some of Britain’s favourite wild flowers that have become so rare. We will site owl boxes and nesting boxes for smaller birds. We will be creating and managing a habitat that will be home to wildlife, insects and birds, an area of outstanding natural beauty for future generations to enjoy.

Business Packages
The need for businesses to be environmentally responsible is now thankfully at the forefront of good business
practice. You can offset your business carbon emissions by planting trees or wild flowers. However, businesses
shouldn't simply use offsetting as an excuse for bad practice, but should use it in line with practical recycling,
energy usage solutions, and environmental impact policies.

Gift Ideas
Why not give a gift that's helping build a better environment for all of us. You can dedicate or ‘Gift a Tree’;
choose from 5 different varieties of native tree to be planted in our woodland, and commemorate the gift or occasion
by adding a personalised tag or a brass plaque. We will then provide you with an e-certificate or send you a
certificate printed on 100% recycled paper (although we strongly urge you to use the e-certificate to minimise
environmental impact).
